I make a range of mallets for vibraphone and marimba. These are carefully hand-wound with specially selected yarns, utilising a variety of core sizes and composition. Shafts are made from kooboo (ratan) which has been carefully selected and pair-matched. They are shown here in order of hardness. Click on an image to examine a pair in more detail.

The resulting sound of these mallets is a product of the core size and hardness, yarn composition, winding strength and angle, and the number of windings of the yarn. This information is given for the purposes of comparison.
